Surgery clinics

In addition to routine and urgent GP or nurse practitioner appointments we provide a wide range of services supported by our healthcare team.

If you wish to attend, please book an appointment and to confirm availability.

There are some tasks you can do, such as health reviews, using our online forms.

Practice nurses

Our practice nurse team have appointments available throughout the week to for:

  • vaccinations
  • injections
  • dressing and wound checks
  • smears
  • HRT checks
  • contraception – If you have been advised by the surgery to submit a contraceptive pill review please complete our form.

Long term conditions

Any patient who has a long-term condition such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma or COPD plus others who require regular reviews to monitor their condition can book a long-term condition appointment.

Our long-term condition appointments are provided by different members of the team, depending on your individual needs and you will be informed of who to see when invited to book.

Blood clinic

This is run daily and is conducted by phlebotomists and healthcare assistants for blood tests.

Anticoagulation (INR) clinic

The anticoagulation clinic is run by the healthcare assistants who are supported by a GP for monitoring Warfarin levels.

Baby clinics

Vaccinations are the best way to protect your baby from preventable diseases and Sett Valley run baby immunisation clinics which are available with our practice nurses.

If you would like to discuss which vaccinations are available for your child please speak to a member of the clinical team.

Family planning

Family planning appointments are available with a practice nurses, including pill checks, depo injections, coil checks and more. We also have GPs who can fit coils and implants

Flu clinic

Each autumn we offer flu vaccinations to our patients who fall into certain categories including the over 65s, carers and patients who suffer with certain long-term conditions.

Invites will be sent to eligible patients when vaccines and appointments are available. If you have not received an invitation and think you are eligible, please speak to a member of our team.

Minor surgery

This includes some type of joint injections and removal of moles when deemed clinically appropriate. To discuss please book an appointment with a GP. Please note that we are only able to offer a limited type of minor surgery appointments so you may need to be referred to the hospital or another healthcare provider where appropriate. 

Vasectomy clinic

Dr Blackburn runs a vasectomy clinic for patients following a referral from a GP.
