Integrated Care Board (ICB)

The Integrated Care Board is responsible for commissioning services, including general practice, in a particular geographical area.

NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the health statutory body for the Derby City and Derbyshire population that replaced the Clinical Commissioning Group when it was disestablished on 30th June 2022. The ICB is a new statutory organisation and will take over the duties and responsibilities of the NHS Derby and Derbyshire

NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the organisation

responsible for:

  • planning to meet local health needs
  • managing the NHS budget and allocating resources
  • ensuring services are in place to deliver against ambitions
  • overseeing delivery of improved outcomes for their population.

NHS Derby and Derbyshire is part of the Joined Up Care Derbyshire integrated health and care system, working with partners in our local authorities, the voluntary sector and others, and helping the NHS to support broader social and economic development.

NHS Derby and Derbyshire brings together all NHS organisations and it also facilitates the work of the Integrated Care System, including supporting the coordination and implementation of our Integrated Care Strategy.
