We run a number of regular clinics, as detailed in the table below. Please telephone the surgery to book an appointment and to confirm availability.

General Clinic Daily Practice Nurse led clinic for dressings, injections, smears, HRT checks, contraception, etc.
Blood Clinic Daily Phlebotomist/Healthcare Assistant led clinic for blood tests.
Antenatal Clinics Tuesday afternoon  
Anticoagulation (INR) Clinic Thursday morning Run by the Practice Nurse for monitoring Warfarin/Sinthrome levels.
Asthma/COPD Clinic Call for availability  
Audiology Monthly (Tuesday lunchtime) Run by the Practice Nurse.
Baby Clinics Appointments arranged by Health Visitors Immunisation Clinics and Growth and Development Clinics are held at Sett Valley Medical Centre and the appointments are arranged by the Health Visitors. In addition, a Baby Clinic is held on Monday morning, and a Postnatal Group on Thursday morning.
Counselling By GP referral Appointments are arranged by the Counsellor directly, following referral by the GP.
Cryotherapy Clinic Monthly (usually first Friday) For the treatment of warts and verrucas.
Diabetic Clinics Monday and Thursday afternoon Clinics run by GPs with special interest in diabetes, nurse and a visiting dietician. We also have a visiting diabetic nurse specialist on Thursday mornings.
Emergency Contraception Daily We offer an emergency contraception service to all patients. If you require emergency contraception please contact the surgery and you will either be contacted by the Triage team or offered an appointment with a GP or nurse.
Family Planning Clinic Wednesday afternoon With the Practice Nurse. Includes coil checks, oral contraceptives etc.
Fit & Trim Club Wednesday morning This clinic follows a Department of Health initiative to promote and raise patients’ awareness of healthier lifestyles. The aim is to minimise the risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and other chronic diseases, and also help with weight loss. The service is free, confidential and discreet service, and is aimed at patients with a higher than average body-mass index. Please either ask your doctor, nurse or at reception, if you are interested in this clinic.
Flu Clinic Annual Each October we offer flu vaccinations to our patients who fall into certain categories including the over 65s, patients who suffer with asthma, COPD, heart disease.
Maternity Clinics Appointments arranged by midwives These clinics are run by midwives. When your pregnancy is confirmed you should collect a Pregnancy Pack from the reception desk and complete the registration form, leaving it with the Receptionist. You will then be contacted by the midwife who will arrange your booking.
Minor Surgery Wednesday afternoon Each of the GPs has a Minor Surgery Session usually once a month. When necessary, an appointment will be arranged for you by your GP during a surgery consultation.
Parentcraft Tuesday afternoon Run at New Mills Clinic in conjunction with the Health Visitors.
Secondary Coronary Prevention Clinic Monday afternoon These clinics are to monitor patients with coronary heart disease.
Smear Clinics Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon With the Practice Nurse or a Nurse Practitioner.
Social Nail Care Wednesday, after 11.00am Run by the Practice Healthcare Assistants. A charge applies for this service, which is also available to patients not registered at Sett Valley Medical Centre. Home visits can be arranged for patients who cannot attend the surgery.
Teenage Health Monday afternoon This is a confidential service for all aspects of teen health. No appointment is necessary.

Vasectomy Clinic Friday afternoon Vasectomy Clinics are run at the surgery on Friday afternoons. To arrange an appointment, you may either see a GP, or ask at reception and you will be sent an appointment by post. Initially you will be invited to a counselling appointment with Dr Williams or Dr Blackburn and be given an appointment for the procedure to be carried out, usually the following week.

Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is available at New Mills Clinic by referral from your GP, or by self-referral. To self-refer, please collect a form from the Surgery reception (either at New Mills or Hayfield), and then hand the form in at New Mills Clinic (opposite the New Mills surgery).

Podiatry
Podiatry (chiropody) is available at New Mills Clinic for recognised medical problems. Please contact the clinic on 01663 747087 for further details or to make an appointment.

Audiology
Hearing Impaired Services, based in Chesterfield, hold regular surgeries at New Mills Clinic for hearing aid assessment and problems with hearing aids.

Other services
Various other services are available from New Mills Clinic, including: Child & Adolescent Family Therapy; The Community Mental Health Team; Speech and Language Therapy; Children’s Audiology and Orthoptist. Please contact the clinic directly on 01663 747087 for further details of these.
